This ocatave mandolin is made from layers of mahogany and teak. The neck goes through the body and is fitted with a bug style pick-up, tone and volume controls and an end pin jack. 

The owner of this octave mandolin emailed this comment;

" .....the instrument is really good.  I think it looks awesome, absolutely amazing to be honest. ....The mandola had its first outing last week when we did a St David's Day special on radio Lancashire folk show. She sounded great and also attracted a lot of interest indeed.  We also used her on a recording which will be going on You Tube."
